Banking App Onboarding

UX Design Exercise

Most onboarding flows don't fail because they're missing features. They fail because nobody removed any.

Traditional banking onboarding was built around in-person processes that never translated well to digital. Nobody went back to fix it. Traditional banking onboarding was built around in-person processes that never translated well to a digital environment. Nobody went back to fix it.

The design was shaped by competitor analysis and usability testing, revealing that most banking apps are overloaded with unnecessary UI. The solution was to strip everything back to essentials because onboarding confusion stems from too much, not too little. The structure held firm from early sketches to the final prototype, with minor adjustments to tighten the flow.

The final prototype achieved a clean, navigable onboarding experience within the 15-minute target. Given more time and real user data, I'd push further. There's always more to learn once actual behaviour is in front of you.
